Technology-driven solutions

Advocating for the use of technology to improve government efficiency and expand civic services

Highlighted Projects

A few projects that exemplify our work (see Projects & Resources for more)
  • Our spin on making budget data more accessible. Done with only marginal cost to city taxpayers. Opens up budget data in CSV and JSON formats

  • Finding a well designed aggregate of local election results can be hard. Thankfully, Virginia makes this data open and freely available. We took advantage of this and made our own page to highlight Central Virginia elections.

  • Can we use technology and design to mitigate the impact of racially disproportionate suspension rates in Virginia schools?

  • We believe that combining technology and human expertise we can improve our community. At the CID, Community members from diverse backgrounds gather to consider how technology can help mitigate specific challenges in our community.
